Baltic environment, food and health:
from habits to awareness.

Final seminar "Sustainable Food: Collaboration for Communication and Governance" 13.11.2013

November 13, 2013 in Riga, Latvia

The main objective of the project is to raise public awareness about the links between food production and quality, focusing on the Baltic Sea area and its surroundings. An emphasis is also given to the life cycle of food and biological cycles. Two-way relationship between human health, food quality and environment are interpreted in terms of the impact of human activities to the environment and vice versa the impacts of environment to the food safety. The final aim is a mutual understanding and self-efficacy in management of the risks. Sustainable food development requires collaboration governance at all levels, from national to local, and collaboration communication using all main communication instruments from information to behaviour change, and this is reflected in the two complementary conference sessions.
